Capella's courses are offered online, so you can pursue your U.S.-based degree anywhere you have Internet access. Our online degree programs offer flexibility, rigorous academics, and a rich learning experience. And our excellent support services—including academic advising, career counseling, and tutoring—are available wherever you are.

Who is an International Student?

If you live outside the U.S., or are not a U.S. citizen, you may be an international student. For admissions purposes, international students include anyone who has completed their most recent academic coursework, degree, or credential at an institution outside the U.S.

Student visas

Because Capella is an online university, we cannot provide the documentation required for student visa requests. Some of our programs require students to participate in clinical practica or internships in the U.S. If you enroll in one of these programs, getting a student visa in order to participate will be your responsibility.

Admission requirements

International students must have attended an internationally-recognized institution, be fluent in English, and have transcripts evaluated and reviewed for eligibility. Learn more

Professional licensure is a goal of many Capella students. Licensure requirements vary from place to place. It is each student's responsibility to understand the requirements for their country or region to ensure that their selected program meets those requirements. Learn more

Financial aid

Federal financial aid is available to U.S. citizens and eligible non-U.S. citizens. There are other financial options that may be available to you, including employer reimbursements and scholarships.

For Canadian students

Capella University strives to provide high quality customer service for our Canadian learners. Please be advised that learners are responsible for determining their eligibility for Canadian Loans and Tax Credits. Capella courses may not meet certain requirements for Canadian loans and tax credits, including but not limited to the minimum week and continuous enrollment requirements.

The Canada Revenue Agency has an extensive library of relevant documents and information pertaining to Canadian loans, scholarships, grants, and tax credits. You can also obtain educational information by subject from Canada's Library and Archives, the Ontario Student Assistance Program or scholarships for international study at http://www.InternationalScholarships.com.
