Capella has recently updated our website that is dedicated to showcasing our students and graduates learning and career outcomes. This is the sort of data that is sorely needed in higher education today, and the type of information colleges and universities owe to prospective students. We encourage you to check out www.CapellaResults.org, an online tool that we believe raises the bar on transparency and accountability in higher education by providing detailed results on academic performance and career outcomes for Capella students and alumni.
The following are a few points to consider:
- Unlike other universities that often hesitate to release this level of information about student performance, Capella invites and encourages it. In fact, Capella believes all higher education institutions should measure and report the academic and career outcomes of their students and alumni.
- Capella serves a unique niche of students – working professionals with an average age of 39 – who must juggle the responsibilities of career, family and school. Capella’s commitment to quality and measuring learning outcomes means that these working professionals can be confident that their Capella degree will deliver real value in the workplace.
- Capella has received recognition for its commitment to learning outcomes and transparency. For example, Capella received the 2010 Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) Award for Outstanding Institutional Practice in Student Learning Outcomes, and CapellaResults.org has been named a “Featured Website” by the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment (NILOA).
