Capella University Served as Pilot Institution in ‘Assuring Quality’ Assessment Tool

October 16, 2012

Capella University served as a pilot institution that helped design and test the higher education assessment tool “Assuring Quality: An Institutional Self-Assessment Tool for Excellent Practice in Student Learning Outcomes Assessment” by the New Leadership Alliance for Student Learning and Accountability. “Assuring Quality” is designed to be used as one of an institution’s self-evaluation tools to identify its strengths and weaknesses when assessing student learning and using assessment results for program and institutional improvement.

Capella was the only online university invited to collaborate on this work. This is a great testament to our focus on, and commitment to, academic quality and leading best practices in the assessment of student learning and learning outcomes.
