New Library Research & Information Literacy Skills site

The Capella Library has recently added a new section to their website to teach learners the basics of library research.

Screenshot of title page from Library RAILS site.

Titled Library Research & Information Literacy Skills (casually referred to as RAILS), this library site covers:

  • Identifying Scholarly Resources
  • Defining Your Topic
  • Searching Effectively
  • Evaluating Source Quality

There are complementary videos and interactive media linked throughout the site. Library RAILS also includes an Initial Self-Assessment to see where your current areas of strength and weakness in library research lie, and a Final Assessment to test what you have learned.

Take an opportunity today to learn more about effective library research. The skills you learn will save you much time and effort in your course papers and assignments.

If you have any feedback about the site, please feel free to email Librarian@capella.edu.

Thanks to the Librarians!

Again, thanks for all of your support and assistance in my effectively search for required Journals and the use of appropriate synonyms in locating information.
