Get Ready for Fall Quarter: Get Your Textbooks Now!

The best time to order your textbooks is right after you register for a course! You can find out which books you need to buy by going to the bookstore and searching for your course number. If the book is listed as required for your course on the bookstore site, that means it is NOT available from the library and you must purchase it or find some other option to obtain it.

Optional Books are not necessarily in the library, but there are several ways you may be able to obtain them, aside from purchasing:

  1. First, search Journal and Book Locator by the book title (NOT author) to see if we have the full text in the library. If we have the book, it will show up in the results list. You can click on the database name (e.g., Ebrary Academic Complete) to go directly to the ebook.
  2. If the full text of an optional book is NOT available through the library, you may fill out an Interlibrary Loan request form and we will request the item for you from another library. Books that are required for any course may NOT be requested through interlibrary loan. (Note: Books take 7-10 business days to arrive.)
  3. Search Worldcat.org to see if a local library has it. Even if a local library has your book(s), make sure to check with the Library before traveling there.

If your particular question about textbooks wasn’t answered here, you can contact the main Capella line: 1-888-227-3552 for help.

I am an alumni of Capella University from the school of Human Services and was just wondering if I can sell some of the books (new & used) that I used when I was in school. Can you let me know? Thank you!
