Residency & Fieldwork
Learning Beyond the Course Room
Residency and fieldwork provide opportunities to develop your counseling and psychology skills outside of your online course room. As you progress in your study and course work, these experiences will help you integrate and apply what you have learned. You will be supported throughout these in-depth learning experiences by Capella's knowledgeable and responsive faculty and support staff.
Your Capella course work is designed to deliver the skills that are in-demand in today's job market. Employers appreciate the level of preparedness that Capella graduates achieve through course room and in-person learning experiences.
Residencies, including master's residencies, doctoral colloquia, and year-in-residence experiences, present the opportunity to study with peers under the guidance of Capella faculty. Fieldwork, including practicum and internship, offers a chance to practice and reinforce the knowledge acquired in the course room and during residencies. This systematic approach to learning ensures that you will have a solid grasp of the skills required for success in your program and your career.
