Residency and fieldwork requirements vary in length and number by degree program. Each experience offers a hands-on approach to put your new knowledge into practice.
Residencies are designed to prepare you for a career in psychology or counseling. You will gain confidence and a wider network through face-to-face practice opportunities with your peers under the guidance and support of Capella faculty and advisors. The number and length of residencies required vary by degree program.
Fieldwork is a part-time or full-time, on-site commitment that includes enrollment in accompanying online courses. Your fieldwork requires direct contact at an approved agency, school, or facility that provides professional guidance as you work with clients or students. Total hour requirements, timing, and appropriate settings vary by degree program.
