Welcome!
The commencement ceremony is a profound rite of passage. The ceremony itself encompasses the history and tradition of a university and its faith in its teaching and philosophy. We invite you, your friends, and your family to celebrate your graduation at one of our commencement ceremonies.
Commencement attendance process
To participate in a commencement ceremony, you must be a degree learner, have been awarded or approved for graduation, and RSVP'd to attend a ceremony. Participation in a commencement ceremony does not imply or assure degree conferral. Degrees are conferred when all academic requirements have been met.
STEPS TO COMMENCEMENT
1. Once you are enrolled in the final course(s) required to complete your degree, submit the Graduation Application. (iGuide login required)
2. Upon receiving your application, the Records Processing and Operations department will audit your transcripts to verify that all academic requirements for your program are met, or will be met upon completion of the course(s) in which you are enrolled.
3. Once the audit is complete, the Records Processing and Operations department will e-mail you with your graduation status.
4. Once you are at an "awarded" or "approved" status, you are eligible to attend a commencement ceremony. You will receive an e-mail inviting you to attend an upcoming ceremony after you become awarded or approved to graduate. If you believe you are eligible to attend an upcoming ceremony, but have not yet received an invitation to RSVP, please email commencement@capella.edu.
