We look forward to welcoming Learners and their guests to Phoenix, Arizona for Commencement weekend. For out-of-town participants, please find information on transportation from the Airport, and within the Phoenix Metro area.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is located five minutes from downtown Phoenix.

Metro Light Rail

For transportation to or from the Phoenix Sky Harbor airport to the Sheraton Downtown, the estimated cost is $1.75 on Phoenix’s new light-rail system.

Getting from the airport to downtown affordably is just one of light rail’s perks. The 20-mile line links Phoenix to the neighboring communities of Tempe and Mesa, and includes stops at attractions such as Phoenix Art Museum, the Heard Museum, Chase Field, US Airways Center and the Mill Avenue District.

Light rail’s quiet, air-conditioned trains operate 20 hours per day, seven days a week, and stop every 10 minutes. The system operates at street level and is powered by electricity from overhead wires. The cost of an all-day pass is $2.50.

Taxi/Cab

Taxi Cab fare from the Airport to the Sheraton Downtown Phoenix will be in the $15.00 range depending on passenger count, traffic and other variables.
