Alternative shuttle options
Super Shuttle (612.827.7777, ext. 1, or 1.800.BLUEVAN) provides a shared ride-on demand shuttle. Ticket counters are located in the Ground Transportation Atrium, accessible via the Tram Level. Follow the signs to the appropriate escalator or elevator. Advance reservations are highly recommended.
Taxi service at the Lindbergh Terminal is accessible via the Tram Level. Signs direct passengers one level up to the cab starter booth, where airport staff will assist passengers obtaining a taxi. Downtown Minneapolis is approximately 16 miles from the airport, with fares averaging $25.00. All cab fares are metered and include a $2.25 trip fee which allows drivers to recoup airport permit fees.
Light rail service to the airport is now available. Trains connect travelers to 15 other destinations, including downtown Minneapolis to the north and the Mall of America to the south. Trains run between the terminals every 7 or 8 minutes during peak hours and every 10 to 15 minutes at other times of the day. From MSP, trains can take you to the Mall of America in about 11 minutes and to the Warehouse District in downtown Minneapolis in about 25 minutes.
Fares for travel to other locations from the airport are $2.25 during rush hours (Monday through Friday, 6 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6:30 p.m.) and $1.75 at other times. A 6-hour pass is available for $3, and an unlimited-ride day pass for $6. Tickets are sold at vending kiosks at the rail stations. For more information, visit the Metropolitan Council’s Web site.
The Lindbergh station is located below the Transit Center. To reach the train station, take the escalators, stairs, or elevators down to the station platform. To find the station from inside the terminal, go to the Tram Level, which is one floor below Baggage Claim. At the far end of the Tram Level are the hub trams, which travel between the terminal and the Transit Center: take the tram to reach the Light Rail station.
