DHA Doctor of Health Administration Health Policy and Advocacy specialization
Your program requires the completion of the Professional Doctorate Colloquium (PSL-R8900). This five-day experience offers the chance to collaborate with peers, faculty, and Capella staff to further develop, refine, and share your dissertation research proposal.
Taking time from your work and family can be a challenge, but the value you will gain from this experience is immeasurable. In fact, Capella students tell us much of their success is a direct result of the time and effort put into their colloquia experience.
Writing your dissertation is challenging work. You will need to find time to write, learn about different research methods, seek feedback on your work, and maintain your motivation. This Colloquium offers the focus, inspiration, and support you need to make progress.
Learners focus on the major facets of action research, and on understanding the learner's role as a principal investigator and clarifying the role of research committee members in the dissertation proposal process. Learners also work to complete the Scientific Merit Action Research Template (SMART) form and become familiar with IRB processes and Capella's resources.
For your Professional Doctorate, grading for this course is S/NS. Prerequisite(s): DHA8015 or DPA8424 or DrPH8190.
