Every member of Capella's Nursing faculty has a doctoral degree, combined with leadership experience and a background in frontline nursing. Our MHA, DHA, and PhD health care faculty all have doctoral degrees, and many members have served as leaders of regional, national and international organizations including major hospitals, health care and legal nurse consulting, care providers, pharmaceutical companies, public health care organizations, and Veterans Administration.

Suzanne Holmes, DPA
Suzanne Holmes serves as dean for the School of Public Service Leadership at Capella University. Her professional background includes executive leadership positions with hospitals, medical groups, managed care organizations, and governmental agencies. In the field of higher education, Dr. Holmes has served as chair of the Division of Health Sciences and program chair of graduate programs in Health Informatics and Managed Care. Her research interests focus on managed care's impact on access and quality, the application of e-commerce and e-learning to the human services arena as cost-containment and quality enhancement strategies, the internationalization of the health sciences workforce, and issues of public health policy. Dr. Holmes holds a DPA from the University of La Verne, an MA in Public and International Affairs from George Washington University, and a BA in Political Science from the University of California.
Deborah L. Gangluff, PhD
Interim Faculty Chair
Dr. Deborah L. Gangluff has been a core faculty member with the Capella School of Public Service Leadership since 2009. In addition to her experience with Capella, Dr. Gangluff has served as adjunct faculty and clinical instructor for the University of Central Arkansas, and as an instructor and adjunct assistant professor for the University of Arkansas for Medical Science. She is also a licensed occupational therapist and serves as program evaluator for the Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education. Dr. Ganluff's educational background includes a BS and MS in Occupational Therapy from the University of Central Arkansas, and a PhD in Public Health from Tulane University. In 2012, Dr. Gangluff was a recipient of Capella's Harold Abel Distinguished Faculty award.
