NCATE-accredited programs are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation for the preparation of P-12 teachers and other professional school personnel. In addition to being nationally accredited, key programs in Capella's Professional Education Unit (PEU) have received national recognition by a Specialized Professional Association, indicating they have met the high standards of that association.

Capella's School of Education faculty members are active and experienced in their professions, and nearly all members hold a doctoral degree. From P-12 teachers to administrators, our faculty hold top academic credentials in the areas they teach and many are published authors. Noteworthy contributions include directing an Ojibwe Language and Culture Education program and creating a middle college high school of 240 students on a college campus.
