Michael Law has seen his own career advance quickly as he's demonstrated the ability to strengthen the leadership of those around him. And he credits earning his MBA from Capella with giving him the business knowledge and leadership skills to advance in the corporate world.
Within a year of earning his MBA, Law moved up from human resources manager at a local roofing company to human resources manager at ServiceMaster. He has since been promoted to leadership and development manager.
Capella's coaching program and online learning model helped Law develop many of the skills he uses on a daily basis. “From being able to lead and manage change, down to being able to establish an approachable discussion board format and communicate effectively online—Capella taught me those things,” Law says. “Best of all, though, is that Capella works the same way business works today. I was getting an education, and at the same time, I was operating the way I function in the business world.”
Law has come a long way in a short time—and he says Capella played a significant part in getting him there. “My Capella education helped me get my foot in the door, and then helped me prove myself,” he says.
