Education & Training

Education is a vital component of a comprehensive Human Research Protection Program (HRPP). Capella University is committed to providing training and ongoing educational opportunities for IRB Members, HRPP staff, researchers, research supervisors, and the Capella community, related to the responsible conduct of research as well as regulatory and institutional requirements for the protection of human participants. Capella ensures that those engaged in the design, review, conduct, and reporting of research and those responsible for supporting such activities have access to education in the responsible conduct of research and demonstrate knowledge of ethical principles and federal regulations concerning research with human participants.

It is Capella University policy that all researchers, research mentors, committee members, and research staff take the Collaborative IRB Training Initiative (CITI) course before applying for IRB approval. Follow the link to the left to begin this training.
