Mission

The mission of the Capella University Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) is to ensure that all research conducted under the purview of Capella University meets the highest ethical standards and complies with the federal regulations for the protection of human participants in research (45.CFR.46).

In service of this mission, Capella's HRPP strives to:

    • Foster an atmosphere of respect for, and awareness of, the rights and welfare of human research participants at Capella University.
    • Continue to inform and education Capella's research community about the application of the federal regulations and ethical principles to their particular areas of research in an effort to keep the community current with evolving standards.
    • Assess the effectiveness of Capella's IRB in its review of research activities, oversight of compliance of researchers with the federal regulations, and protection of research participants.
    • Provide administrative and operational support for Capella's IRB functions to ensure timely and efficient processing, review, monitoring, tracking, and reporting of research protocols and IRB activities.
