Simply the Best

August 18, 2010peoplegogy What I like most about the program is our ability to focus our coursework and research on issues/topics according to our individual career interests. I am not only learning a great deal about leadership and action research, I am developing new knowledge in the area of Web 2.0 and Social Media Tools. I highly recommend this degree for anyone with the drive to be a change agent in their organization or within their field. I could not have asked for a better education.

Career Friendly Program

July 8, 2010Sharanda The Doctor of Educational Leadership and Management program is a career friendly program. The program allows learners to enhance their careers by engaging on different levels of their current organizations through interactive learning modules while earning a terminal degree in their field. It's perfect for me.

Best thing I ever did

July 8, 2010Dr. Cynthia Knight This was the first educational experience I had that truly gave mt an "education". With Capella I could tailor the classes to meet my needs for school administration in Iowa. I learned so much and it has served me well. I work for the Iowa Department of Education and truly love my job!

Capella has been a godsend for me!

July 31, 2010Tahmera I have been a Capella learner since 2006. I earned a Master of Science in Education, Reading and Literacy Specialization in December 2009. I am presently enrolled in the Educational Leadership and Management Doctoral Program. It is wonderful! It is truly a journey worth trying!

How long did it take and how many courses per term?

January 6, 2011Cynthia It took me 3 1/2 years. I took an average of 3 courses per term. I did some online and a lot independent study. My summers were the fullest because I was a teacher and could devote a lot of time to the work. My kids were older, high school, but I could spend time with them when they were home ad work on the PhD stuff when they were out and about!

Course length?

September 9, 2010Marina I wanted to know what the duration of each class is in this program. It is a standard semester (16 weeks) or shorter?

finding a position after completing the Ph.D. in Ed. Leadership

October 26, 2010Dr. Cynthia Knight I had no trouble finding/getting the current position I hold as a consultant in special education for the Iowa Department of Education. I believe my Ph.D. helped me get the position. I loved the experience I had at Capella University; it was the best "educational experience" of my career. Well worth the time, effort and money! I recommend it to everyone I know. Two of my colleagues are now enrolled! Dr. Cynthia Knight

Concerned with Online Degree

September 30, 2011Michelle I am a bit concerned about getting my Doctorate completely online? Will my degree be highly recognized? Do I have to travel for my dissertation? Will I have the hands on support that I would get in a face to face program?
