Bachelor of Science (BS) in Business

School of Undergraduate Studies

Project Management (Business) specialization

Businesses are recognizing the value of project management beyond its traditional use in information technology. This specialization is designed to offer the core business knowledge and project management skills you need to apply traditional project management techniques to cross-functional business initiatives. It is built around the competencies in "A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge" (PMBOK® Guide), a globally recognized standard for project management. Because Capella is a Registered Education Provider of the Project Management Institute (PMI), you can earn your Bachelor's in Business and professional development units (PDUs) from PMI at the same time. People who choose this Project Management specialization are often interested in pursuing project lead or coordinator positions in corporations, consulting firms, or government agencies.

Project Management Quality Recognition

The Project Management (PMI®) Global Accreditation Center for Project Management (GAC) has accredited Capella's BS-IT, BS-Business, MS-IT, and MBA Project Management specializations, as well as our Combined BS/MS in IT option.

Questions about BS - Business Project Management

December 24, 2010Ray I am looking into the BS - Business Project Management degree (NOT IT project Management)through Capella, and I have a few questions for those who are currently enrolled or have already completed their degree in this field. 1.) How is a on-line degree from Capella perceived by potential employers? 2.) Have you had any difficulty transferring Capella BS credits to brick & mortar schools? other on-line schools? 3.) Have you acheived PMP certification after getting your BS-BMP degree from Capella? Did the BS-BMP course work prepare you well for the PMP exam? Thanks much. Ray
