General Psychology specialization

Develop an understanding of human learning, emotions, and behaviors with this BS in Psychology specialization, designed around the American Psychological Association (APA) Guidelines for the Undergraduate Psychology Major. You will also learn skills in research, writing, problem solving, and synthesizing and evaluating information, which are valued in a wide range of professions beyond psychology. Successful graduates of this program are prepared to continue their studies at the graduate level or pursue careers in a variety of fields that employ psychological knowledge and skills, including public service, law enforcement, business, sales, market research, health care, and social services.

Set your sights higher while you earn your bachelor's degree. Once you earn 100 undergraduate credits, you may be eligible for Capella's Combined BS/MS in Psychology option or Combined BS/MBA option. Both allow you to start earning master's-level credits during your bachelor's program, reducing your time to MS or MBA completion by up to two quarters. You can also save more than $4,500 over the cost of pursuing BS and MS in Psychology degrees separately, or more than $7,700 over the cost of pursuing BS and MBA degrees separately.

General Education Requirements

To complete your bachelor's degree, you will need 45 quarter credits in general education subject areas with a minimum of 6 quarter credits from each category. We offer general education courses in communication, humanities, natural science and mathematics, and social science.

Residents of Arkansas must complete Arkansas general education requirements.
In compliance with regulations of the Kansas Board of Regents, Kansas residents starting any undergraduate program after January 1, 2010 will be required to complete 186 quarter credits in order to graduate.
