Health Informatics specialization
More new jobs are being created in health care than any other field. At the same time, mandated electronic recordkeeping and tightened patient privacy regulations are making health informatics a sought-after skill. This specialization is designed to prepare you to use technology to improve health care quality and lower health care costs. Course work covers such topics as electronic information system management, information security, data integrity, and regulatory compliance. People who choose this specialization are often pursuing information technology specialist positions in hospitals, clinics, and health care systems.
General Education Requirements
To complete your bachelor's degree, you will need 45 quarter credits in general education subject areas with a minimum of 6 quarter credits from each category. We offer general education courses in communication, humanities, natural science and mathematics, and social science.
Residents of Arkansas must complete Arkansas general education requirements.
In compliance with regulations of the Kansas Board of Regents, Kansas residents starting any undergraduate program after January 1, 2010 will be required to complete 186 quarter credits in order to graduate.
