Federal Pell Grant: Grants do not need to be repaid. The Pell Grant is based on financial need, and awarded to eligible students in an undergraduate program. The maximum Pell Grant award for 2008–2009 is $4,731. The actual award depends on the student's enrollment status each quarter (full time or half time).
Federal National SMART (Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent) Grants: This grant of up to $4,000 per year is automatically awarded each quarter to all students who meet the criteria. There is no application process.
TEACH (Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education) Grants: This grant provides up to $4,000 per financial aid year (up to $8,000 total) to those who intend to teach in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families in a high-need field.
