This Week’s Top Stories in Higher Ed

April 4, 2013

It’s clear higher-education isn’t on spring break this week. I am seeing a lot of news covering everything from competency-based learning to financial aid. Capella is in the news as well – take a moment to read through this week’s top stories:

– Capella was mentioned in Paul Fain’s piece today in Inside Higher Ed for our participation in the Gate’s Foundation study on adaptive learning.

-Capella’s education partner Sophia was featured by eSchool News as a free resource for flipping the classroom.

-Jamie Merisotis, CEO/President of Lumina Foundation, shares his thoughts in the Huffington Post about Competency-Based Learning.

-Chronicle of Higher Education: Under California Bill, faculty-free colleges would award exam-based degrees

-Chronicle of Higher Education: To fix financial aid, first try to understand it
