Notable Faculty

Capella's School of Education faculty members are active and experienced in their professions, and nearly all members hold a doctoral degree. From P–12 teachers, administrators, and higher education faculty to leadership, curriculum designers, and grant writers, our faculty hold top academic credentials in the areas they teach and many are published authors. Noteworthy contributions include sitting on the Executive Board for the National Association of Community and Technical Colleges, directing an Ojibwe Language and Culture Education program, and creating a middle college high school of 240 students on a college campus.

Melissa McIntyre-Brandly, PhD


Dr. Melissa McIntyre‐Brandly has been a core faculty member with the Capella School of Education since 2004. In addition to her experience with Capella, Dr. McIntyre-Brandly has worked as curriculum director, assistant principal, and special education coordinator in the Killeen ISD, and as an online faculty member for Argosy University. She has also taught courses in special education, and for active duty military personnel. Dr. McIntyre‐Brandly's educational background includes a BS in Sociology from Texas A&M University-Central Texas, an MA in both Educational Administration and Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix, and a PhD in Educational Administration from Capella.
