30% Tuition Discount

Capella University is pleased to announce a 30% discount on tuition for eligible employees and immediate family members who enroll in a Capella degree program and meet the following eligibility requirements.   

  • Must meet Capella University admission requirements.
  • Must be an eligible employee or immediate family member* of an eligible employee.
  • Must be a new student (or former student reapplying to the university) accepted into and enrolled in one of the eligible programs listed below in the GuidedPath or FlexPath learning format at Capella University and start classes between January 2021 and December 2021.
  • Maintain good academic standing (3.01.04 Academic Standing) and good financial aid satisfactory academic progress (3.01.05 FASAP) for the duration of the program.

    How to Apply 
  1. Submit the Capella University online admission application. If you have already applied to Capella, skip this step.
  2. Apply now  for the 30% Tuition Discount.
  3. To start your program on January 11, February 8, March 8, April 12, May 10, July 12, August 9, September 13, October 11, November 8, or December 6, 2021, apply for the tuition discount before courses begin.

*Immediate family members (children and spouse or domestic partner living in the same residence) as defined by the Internal Revenue Service, are eligible for the discount outlined in this Agreement.

  • The 30% tuition discount can be applied only to an eligible certificate, master's, or bachelor's program in the GuidedPath or FlexPath learning format.
  • The 30% tuition discount will be applied to each student’s Capella account during the third week of the quarter or billing session, pending satisfaction of eligibility requirements, up to the maximum time to completion for the recipient's program (2.01.02 Maximum Time to Degree Completion).
  • GuidedPath recipients who do not remain enrolled through the first two weeks of the quarter will forfeit the award for that quarter. FlexPath recipients who, in their first billing session in the program, do not remain enrolled through the first two weeks of the billing session will forfeit the award for that billing session.
  • Recipients who change to an ineligible program, graduate, discontinue, or withdraw from Capella will have all future disbursements canceled.
  • Under no circumstances will recipients be eligible for cash payment or other compensation for the value of the scholarship or any unused disbursements.
  • Recipients of the 30% tuition discount are not eligible for other Capella grants, scholarships, or discounts, unless otherwise noted in the eligibility requirements of the additional applicable scholarship.
  • The 30% tuition discount is applicable only to tuition. Other costs and fees associated with recipients’ academic programs, including but not limited to resource kit fees, background check fees, and residency costs, are excluded from the discount.
  • The 30% tuition discount may decrease the amount of funding that can be offered from other sources, such as federal financial aid.
  • The 30% tuition discount is intended to address the cost of attendance, including but not limited to, tuition. Books, supplies, and other fees apply to the recipients’ programs, and are not subject to this discount.
  • Capella University and its affiliates’, faculty and staff, their spouses, domestic partners, and dependent children are not eligible for the 30% tuition discount.
