Capella University is pleased to announce a $5,000 Capella Progress Reward scholarship. Enroll in an eligible master’s degree program by, apply for the Capella Progress Reward scholarship, and meet eligibility requirements.*

- Must meet Capella University admission requirements.
- Must be an eligible employee and provide proof of employment by census in your first course.
- Must be a new student (or former student reapplying to the university) accepted into and enrolled in the GuidedPath learning format at Capella University and start classes between July 2026 and January 2027.
- Maintain good academic standing (3.01.04 Academic Standing) and good financial aid satisfactory academic progress (3.01.05 FASAP).
- Must pass your first course upon first attempt. Returning students must pass first course taken upon readmission to Capella.
- Must complete and submit the scholarship application form and provide proof of employment eligibility before 11:59 p.m. Central Time the day courses begin.*
How to Apply
- Submit the Capella University online admission application. If you have already applied to Capella, skip this step.
- Before you apply, be sure to read the scholarship details section to understand the disbursement schedule and any other considerations.
- Apply now for the $5,000 Scholarship.
- To start your program on July 13, August 10, September 14, October 12, November 9, December 7, 2026, or January 11, 2027 apply for the tuition discount before courses begin.

To be considered a former student reapplying to the university and eligible for this offer, the student must not be currently enrolled in the university when reapplying, and must meet one of the four following criteria:
Graduate of a Capella certificate or a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree program in the GuidedPath or FlexPath learning format.
Inactive from the university for at least four consecutive quarters.
Program of prior admittance to the university has been restaged or retired.
Applying to a program at a different degree level than program of prior admittance.

- The scholarship can be applied only to the select master’s programs. The $5,000 will be applied to your Capella account during the third week of the quarter, disbursed equally over five consecutive quarters ($1,000 per quarter).

- GuidedPath recipients who do not remain enrolled through the first two weeks of the quarter will forfeit the award for that quarter. Travel expenses for residencies, practicum, etc., are not covered by the scholarship.
- Recipients who change to an ineligible program, graduate, discontinue, or withdraw from Capella will have all future disbursements canceled.
- For students to continue to receive our scholarship benefits, they must remain in good academic standing. Read the details below.
- Adhere to all applicable Capella University policies, including but not limited to academic standing (3.01.04 Academic Standing) and financial aid satisfactory academic progress (3.01.05 FASAP).
- Students must successfully pass first course upon first attempt. Returning students must pass first course taken upon readmission to Capella.
- Under no circumstances will recipients be eligible for cash payment or other compensation for the value of the scholarship or any unused disbursements.
- The scholarship may decrease the amount of funding that can be offered from other sources, such as federal financial aid.
- The scholarship is intended to address the cost of attendance, including but not limited to, tuition. Books, supplies and other fees apply to the recipients’ programs and are not subject to this discount.
- Capella University and its affiliates, faculty and staff, their spouses, domestic partners and dependent children are not eligible for the scholarship.
- Recipients of the $5K master’s scholarship are not eligible for other Capella grants or scholarships, or discounts in excess of 15%, unless otherwise noted in the eligibility requirements of the additional applicable scholarship. This includes the Capella Tuition Cap. For eligible programs that have the Capella Tuition Cap available, upon completing the Capella Tuition Cap acknowledgement, if a recipient applies for this scholarship, such application will superseded the Capella Tuition Cap and recipient will forfeit tuition cap eligibility.
