Since 2019, Capella University has been a member of the Minnesota Keystone Program, which recognizes companies that donate at least 2% of their pretax earnings to the community.
Making a difference starts with giving back. Through the Capella Fellows Program scholarship, we’re investing in developing the talent and leadership skills that can help mitigate challenges in our communities.
Each year, Capella will offer up to 50 full-tuition scholarships and additional opportunities to eligible individuals who make a positive impact in their community. To qualify, a candidate must be an eligible employee of a predetermined Capella Fellows corporate partner or community organization and enrolled in an eligible master's or doctoral program in the GuidedPath or FlexPath learning format. If your organization doesn’t appear on this list, or if you want to find out how to add your organization, contact [email protected]
Capella Fellows Program recipient
“For the past 16 years, my primary career focus has been working with clients experiencing issues related to substance use as well as with populations living with HIV. My goal is to continue working with communities affected by HIV and the opioid epidemic. My first practicum was in a program focusing on community engagement. In my second practicum, I focused on clinical work by providing counseling services at a counseling center in south Minneapolis, which provided anonymous counseling to the community at no additional cost. This has been an incredible and invaluable experience, and I would not be able to do this work without the support of the Capella Fellows program.”

You don’t need perfect conditions to achieve extraordinary things. I built a company while earning my degree, raising my son alone, and managing the effects of my military service. My advice is simple: be consistent, believe in yourself, and block out negative noise. Purpose will carry you through the toughest days, and consistent effort transforms vision into reality.

Cedric J. Moses, Bachelors Business
Since earning my degree, I’ve used the skills gained from my DBA program to launch my own consulting firm, LocalGov HR Guru, LLC, which has positioned me as a sought-after HR consultant in the public sector. The program sharpened my business acumen, strategic thinking, and leadership capabilities, which are skills that have directly contributed to the success and growth of my company. I've also seen a significant increase in speaking engagements and training facilitation opportunities with organizations seeking my expertise in talent management, employee engagement, and organizational development. The knowledge and confidence I gained from my education have not only elevated my credibility, but also allowed me to lead, educate, and influence HR practices far beyond my own business.
