Welcome to Capella
Select your program and we'll help guide you through important information as you prepare for the application process.
Our GuidedPath learning format offers structured learning with the flexibility of 24/7 access to the courseroom. Set deadlines help you stay focused and motivated. You’ll engage with peers for weekly discussion posts, and instructors provide regular check-ins and feedback on assessments. Tuition is billed on a pay-per-credit model for 10-week courses – plan out your degree to fit your schedule and budget.
“Capella was truly the best fit for me to become a school counselor. It offered me the flexibility I needed to balance work, school and life while also ensuring I gained an amazing education.”

You’ll access courses in an online courseroom, where instructors present engaging interactive learning experiences and guide weekly discussions. The online format gives you more flexibility to study on your time – just meet your deadlines and communicate regularly with your instructor and peers.
As a student, you will access and review your assessment rubric, coursework and weekly participation requirements.
You’ll chat with other students in weekly discussions guided by faculty. Ask questions and broaden your views. Then complete assessments and submit them by the deadline.
Every assignment has a purpose: to help you gain skills and knowledge that you can apply to your day-to-day career. You’ll demonstrate your new skills through discussion posts and assessments.
Students who choose GuidedPath pay per course or credit, so cost depends on your courseload, as well as your program and term. Explore options for discounts, tuition assistance and other funding options to save on tuition.
*This tool provides three (3) estimates for GuidedPath tuition if you brought in: 1) no transfer credits, 2) the average number of transfer credits and 3) the maximum allowed transfer credits, effective July 8, 2024. These three (3) values are only estimates that are subject to change, are not guaranteed reflections of what you will pay for your program and do not include the cost of books, course materials, supplies, equipment and other expenses. The amount you ultimately pay for tuition will depend on your unique circumstances, such as program specialization, transfer credits and any other applicable tuition discounts.

Because courses are not live or in-person, you do not need to attend class at a specific time. As long as you meet the weekly deadlines for assignments and discussion posts, you can study whenever it’s convenient for you.
As a Capella student, you will be automatically registered for your first course. You can connect with your academic coach if you have questions about your first course or if you need help registering for your other courses. Registration begins 3–4 weeks before the course start date. Once you have an academic plan, you can register for courses in the upcoming term.
Most deadlines for coursework occur on Thursdays and/or Sundays but may vary by program and course. You will need to turn in your assignments before 11:59 p.m. Central Time on the dates they are due.
