“With a family and full-time career, FlexPath made it possible to finish my bachelor’s degree and begin my master’s at Capella. FlexPath allowed me to achieve my dream.”
Soon after beginning her master’s degree journey in public health, KayLa Allen listened to her heart’s calling to give back to her community and gain experience in upper level management. She took a leap of faith and applied for the managing director role at Break the Silence Against Domestic Violence (BTSADV). KayLa’s commitment to helping others, coupled with her educational experiences at Capella, resulted in her being offered the position in August 2018.
The following year, KayLa graduated with her master’s degree, was promoted to director of operations, and decided to further her education. She completed the post-master’s certificate in epidemiology and enrolled in the Doctor of Health Administration program at Capella. KayLa describes her life today as a wonderful journey of personal and leadership evolution, while striving every day to help leaders be more influential, develop others in self-empowerment and care, and increase BTSADV’s community engagement and service.
