The curriculum examines the latest research and theories on how addiction develops and the societal factors at play. You’ll also gain hands-on experience through two residencies, two internships and a practicum.

As part of the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP)-accredited program, this specialization is designed to help prepare students to pursue professional licensure as a clinical mental health counselor.*
