Fulfill Your Undergraduate Credits Faster, For Less

Sophia Pathways: An Accelerated, Flexible, Low-Cost Option for Fulfilling Your Required General Education Courses

Sophia Pathways offers general education courses you’d customarily take at Capella, only in a more flexible, self-paced format — at a fraction of the cost.

For example, fulfilling just two of your general education requirements would typically take 3 months and cost about $3,000. You could complete these same requirements at Sophia in under 60 days — for around $650.

Sophia Courses Apply Directly to Capella

Of the 45 quarter credits you need to fulfill the general education requirement for Capella, you’ll need to take at least 6 quarter credits from each of these categories: Communication; Humanities; Natural Science and Mathematics; and Social Science. Sophia offers a variety of courses in all the categories, all of which you can apply directly to your Capella bachelor's degree program.

Flexibility that Fits Your Life

Sophia courses are ACE Credit®-recommended for potential transfer to more than 2,000 colleges and universities*. They have no hidden fees or additional textbook expenses. And because they’re self-paced, you can take Sophia courses anytime you like — even on your break between courses at Capella.

*The American Council on Education's College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE Credit®) has evaluated and recommended college credit for 19 of Sophia's online courses. More than 2,000 colleges and universities consider ACE CREDIT recommendations in determining the applicability to their course and degree programs.
