In this course, learners build a conceptual framework of financial markets and examine their roles in the global financial environment. Learners also evaluate the macroeconomic variables and monetary policies that affect financial markets and assess the role of the central bank and banking system in the financial environment. This course provides learners with a framework for using financial statement data in various business analysis and valuation contexts. Finance professionals help organizations find and manage the resources needed to grow, make investments and acquisitions, plan for the future and manage existing assets. Undergraduate students in the Finance specialization can build the knowledge and skills needed in the financial services industry or as a finance professional within a public or private organization. In addition, students demonstrate the management, interpersonal and professional thinking skills needed to impact effectiveness across all levels of their organization. Students choose elective courses based on their individual professional needs.
