This course offers an in depth study of national and global healthcare from a business management perspective. Learners examine the history and evolution of both the U.S. and global health care delivery systems. Learners also apply critical-thinking skills to analyze a variety of management challenges related to population health indicators, political, economic, and consumer driven forces. Finally, learners explore the high level of change and innovation in the health care system by applying change management concepts and skills related to emerging and future trends in health care delivery. |

In this course, learners gain and apply knowledge of the business management skills used to effectively assess, create, and lead culturally competent health care organizations. Learners explore management responsibilities for creating and maintaining a workplace environment of cultural diversity and inclusion, as well as the challenges associated with this responsibility and the resources available to meet those challenges. Learners also examine how cultural health disparities and the social determinants of health affect the ability of health care organizations to provide culturally competent health care programs and services. The bachelor’s in health care management specialization is designed to build your understanding of basic health care business functions – including finance, accounting, human resources, communications and marketing, in addition to more focused functions like quality assurance, risk management and health care operations. Other specialization topics include health care laws and regulations, leadership and ethics.

Capella is committed to transparency in its tuition and pricing. A resource kit fee of $50-$200, charged quarterly or per billing session, covers the cost of required books, software, and other course materials.
