April 13, 2026

Reading Time: 2–4 minutes

At Capella University, you earn your degree online instead of in a classroom, but your journey is far from solitary.

Support services and community interaction are available to help you along the way. Here’s an overview of a few support resources available.

Enrollment specialists

Beginning a program can be daunting, but our enrollment specialists can assist you in getting started at Capella – from helping you decide what program is the right fit for your goals to guiding you through the application process and starting you on your journey. They can also help you navigate transfer credits and get you set up for a smooth start to your program.

Financial aid advisors

Our financial aid advisors help you explore how to pay for college. They can answer your questions and provide guidance on our online financial aid resources, which provide information about federal loans and undergraduate grants, special aid programs and employer tuition reimbursement.

Academic coaches

Once enrolled, you’ll be assigned to an academic coach to support you throughout your educational journey. Your coach will assist you with scheduling, answer questions about your academic challenges and help you stay on track to meet your goals.

Faculty

Capella faculty members are experienced leaders in their fields. Many of them are practitioners who can offer insights from their real-world knowledge and experience within your chosen profession. They’re also committed to helping you pursue your goals, so they welcome your questions and can connect one-on-one when needed.

Career Development Center

Students and graduates have 24/7 access to the Career Development Center for self-serve tools, information and career management events. Career coaches host virtual webinars and workshops and also offer personalized one-on-one coaching. Whether you need a resume review, interview preparation tools, job listings or industry-specific insights, these resources are designed to help you manage your professional growth.

Capella communities

Once you’re enrolled at Capella, you’ll gain access to the Career and Community Network, your primary hub for connecting with fellow students and alumni. Here, you can build relationships, exchange ideas and participate in informal mentoring that supports both your academic and professional journey. You’ll also find opportunities to join groups based on shared interests, honor societies and specific academic areas, creating meaningful spaces to learn from others and grow your network.

Student wellness

The Student Wellness Center connects you with resources to support your mental health, self-care, academic responsibilities, financial wellness and basic needs. From stress management and emotional support to parenting tools and emergency assistance, these services are dedicated to helping you stay well and on track in your academic journey.

Disability Services

A dedicated team of advisors and accessibility specialists helps Capella provide access to accommodations and services to qualified students with disabilities to help them achieve their full academic potential.

Doctoral support

Doctoral students work with a team of advisors who provide guidance during the dissertation or comprehensive exam process. Some graduate-level programs require in-person or virtual residencies that engage students in hands-on or synchronous experiences as you develop your research.

Library and writing support

Need help finding resources or honing your writing skills for a paper or other coursework? The Capella Library and Writing Center can offer feedback and support as you work on your assignments.

LinkedIn groups

In addition to the official Capella University LinkedIn page, subgroups are available to help professionals expand their network:

Military support

Capella provides a dedicated team for benefit assistance and support for students who are active-duty service members, veterans, their spouses, dependents and Department of Defense employees.

Tech support

As an enrolled student, you will have 24/7 access to technical support via phone and chat. You can also contact our AI chatbot, Ella, with advising and financial aid questions at any time.

Alumni Association

The Capella University Alumni Association exists to create, preserve and strengthen relationships between the university and its alumni by offering engagement opportunities, career support, alumni benefits and resources for professional development.
